Today, we’ll be discussing ways you can use your personal technology to help you stay informed and entertained, whether you want to keep up with the daily news cycle, virtually tour museums you wish you could visit in person or you want to start streaming new documentaries and shows through Netflix. We’re facing new challenges, including more time spent at home and less money to spend. The accessibility and reach of our personal technology devices can improve our capacity to deal with these lifestyle changes.
In today’s session, called Staying Informed and Entertained, we’ll be discussing the different apps and services we can utilize to stream movies, television, music, and radio. We’ll also be talking about podcasts, virtual opportunities for arts and culture, and more.
The first one we’re going to talk about is Prime Video. It’s an app where you can stream TV shows and movies and it’s free with an Amazon Prime membership. Netflix provides an array of TV shows, movies, and more with an impressive library and great Netflix originals. YouTube TV is a live TV service that allows you to stream live cable television with other 70+ channels. Finally, Disney+ is the best of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic all under one streaming service. In this new era, it appears to be the streaming services that are in a position to become the new power brokers in Hollywood.
We’ll also talk about podcast platforms like Stitcher, Laughable, and Overcast, as we have seen a large rise in interest in this form of audio content. We’ll cover music streaming services such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and Pandora. And, if you’re interested in virtual reality, we’re also covering popular offerings like artists streaming their concerts and 3D museum tours.
