GroovyTek believes people over the age of 40 are being mistreated and ignored by Silicon Valley. GroovyTek takes a personalized approach anchored in respect and patience to help folks become confident navigating personal technology independently and on their own terms.
Since our founding, nearly eight years ago in Colorado, we have learned a great deal about the state of technology education in our society and the frustrations related to personal technology (smartphones, tablets, and computers).
Frustrations often appear to be rooted in a lack of resources available for folks to learn on their own terms. As technology advances so quickly, there is a sense that people don’t know how to “catch up” and a collective feeling that they are falling ever further behind.
Sadly, we have learned that often people are made to feel “stupid” when asking family members or others for tech help. Frustration is often exacerbated by generational differences and a lack of respect towards older generations.
GroovyTek works to counter these frustrations by developing generationally appropriate training services and curriculum around the themes of exploration and empowerment.
We believe it is essential for folks from all generations to be trained and confident to use personal technology to improve their day to day lives.
