Apple has just released their latest iOS update for iPhones and iPads, featuring a whole slate of personalization features, deeper intelligence, and more seamless ways to communicate and share. We’ll go over all the new features you can expect and how to make sure you’re ready for the new update.
One of the biggest features to receive a lot of updates and overhauls has been the iPhone’s lock screen. iOS 16 includes all-new ways to personalize the lock screen with your favorite photos, the ability to customize font styles, and display widgets to get information at a glance. Widgets are small icons on your lock screen that show current information like weather, calendar events, date, battery level, etc, and are going to be even more customizable in iOS 16.
Using new focus features, you can personally choose the apps and people you want to receive notifications from by either allowing them or silencing them. These features can be connected to your lock screen and to different profiles, so with a swipe you can go from a personal focus set up to a work focus with widgets showing your upcoming meetings and to-do lists.
Also included will be improved functionality of sharing photos, messaging, dictation, maps, Apple pay and more. To download the update for yourself, make sure to start by making a backup of your device to iCloud or your computer. Next, make sure your device is plugged in and connected to the internet via Wi-Fi and follow these steps: Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Tap Install Now.
